GO HOME INSTRUCTIONS
Being licensed with the state of Colorado we have certain guidelines that we need to follow.
Puppies must be 8 weeks old before we are able to place them with new family. We do final
puppy selection on the day they go home as their personalities really start to show during week 6
through 8. We do selection based on first pick and allow families 1 hour to interact with puppies
and choose their new family member then move to 2nd pick etc. We will contact you 10-14 days
prior to schedule a time. Puppies are handled daily from birth to departure. They are kept in large
indoor /outdoor runs and have exposure to doggie door and open crates. During their
development we expose them to various toys, bird wings, blank pistol and other noise so that you
will have a confident and outgoing puppy when they leave. Puppies spend time running up and
down our indoor kennel and meeting the adult dogs. Our grandchildren help with socialization
and play with them often. We have 10 acres and puppies are taken outside with us for walks and
to explore when weather permits.
Health Vaccinations
Your puppy has dew claws removed by day 2. They will receive worm medication at age 5 and 7 weeks. Puppy will receive 6 way combination shot at 6 weeks and again at 8 weeks. Puppy will be micro-chipped. You will receive a copy of health record that will show vaccinations your puppy received here. You can take this to your vet so that he knows exactly what you puppy has had to date.

Puppy Food
We will send home small bag of the puppy food we use so that you can mix it half/half with whatever brand you choose to feed. We use loyal life chicken and rice puppy food for large breed dogs. It is important to choose a good quality puppy food intended for large breed dogs to meet their growing nutritional needs. You should feed puppy food for the entire first year then can switch to adult food. The brand we feed is 28% protein 18% fat. We will review how much your puppy is eating and the times that we feed prior to leaving.
|
Payment
Your puppy has full AKC registration and we will review that form and how to register their micro-chip prior to leaving. Paperwork and instructions will take about 10 minutes to complete.
Final payment is due the day you pickup your puppy to go home. The payment includes the 4% states sales tax. We accept money orders, cash or personal check for payment. We do not accept credit cards or debit cards. |
Restrooms
We do not have a restroom facility available in our kennel. Please plan accordingly. There are 2 gas stations with restrooms available in Akron. Otis has a rest area and gas station as well. Gas station in Otis is not open on weekends. We plan to limit only one family at a time in kennel and we will bleach office surfaces between. We ask that you be on time when coming to get your puppy and remain in car until prior family has left.
