TESTIMONIALS
Hi Shannon and Terry:
It has been just over 1 year since we selected our female pup and I wanted you to know how much she has become a major part of our lives. We thought we selected the most relaxed, demure pup, but Breeze is anything but that! She has boundless energy and is playfully aggressive. Needless to say she is also very affectionate.
Breeze is quite a looker and receives complements from most who meet her! She is a bit on the small side weighing around 58 pounds. We have engaged 1-on-1 training services (mostly for my education!!) and our trainer says that Breeze is one of the most intelligent dogs he has ever trained. She is very quick to learn, always inquisitive and keeps me on my toes!
Thanks for making a wonderful friend available!

Just wanted to tell you guys, these two pups are awesome and so darn smart! Arya started out to be a pistol and Drogo was just a little love! Their first visit to the vet at ten weeks, Arya had a UTI and Drogo had girardia. LOL….oh the life of pups! After Arya completed her antibiotics, her demeanor became that of a sweet heart. Drogo is the vocal one and has a high pitched chihuahua bark! LOL Arya, when she barks is a bigger more throaty bark. They have been enjoying our walks, have been hiking and swimming. Drogo just plunges right into the water, Arya is not quite sure of her ability yet. She swims, but its hysterical the way she does it. LOL. They have both been paddle boarding. I am using clicker training and they are doing fabulous with that. I separated them at night as they were sharing the same crate, but soon began to wrestle and play, leaving me with my pillow over my head! LOL. Eventually I may move them out of my room, but their crates do not take up too much space in my bedroom. They just had their 12 week vaccinations and Arya weighed in at 26 pounds and Drogo weighed in at 22 pounds. I cannot believe how fast they are growing. I thank you again for these two little loves! They are so my little happy thoughts! They make my heart smile huge!

Just wanted to send you some updated pictures of Camo! He is such a good boy! He has mastered “sit”, fetch and he is potty trained! We are working on shake and stay! He still likes to bite and chew on things so we are working on that but he’s a good boy and we love him so much! Thank you again ❤️
This is our gorgeous Ruby (Sassy and Cloud’s Bold Bear / Aug. 2017), at the top of Hope Pass Colorado (12,500 ft., 10 mile total run/hike) in July 2019. We could not ask for a better addition to our family. Ruby is extremely intelligent and loves the outdoors. When our camper gets parked in front of our house for a weekend trip she goes insane and refuses to leave the driveway until we load up to leave out. When we get back home, she’ll often sit in the back seat of the truck, door open, almost refusing to come inside. Running shoes or a hydration pack also get her excited, and she’ll often lay by the front door waiting to go. Ruby’s longest distance has been this summer – 13 mile hike around Mt. Elbert (third pic), but ready to play more after a snack and nap. Always begging for a belly rub, and a kind companion for our young son. Very blessed to have her on our journeys. — The McCalls

Good morning Shannon and Terry.
Hope all is well. My husband Dave and I purchased the chocolate female from the Sadie X Gator litter. I've attached a picture of her that was taken last week. We named her Boone. She is a very sweet and loving little girl. She's super intelligent and learning things so quickly. She's growing like a weed too! We love her so much! Thank You! Michelle |
Hi! Just wanted to send you some pics of Bo! He is from Tanners litter born 9/20/16.
He’s such a GOOD dog!!
He’s such a GOOD dog!!
Hello!
We purchased "Moose", a chocolate lab, from you all back in October of last year. He was from the litter born on Sept. 1, 2018. First off, he has been the best puppy. He has been so easy to train and we love having him in our family! We also get compliments from EVERYONE when we take him out on what a good looking dog he is and how well he listens.
Being a lab puppy, he is very full of energy! While we have our neighbor come over in the afternoons to play and feed him, and we take him for a least a two mile walk each evening, he has proven to have more energy that needs burned off. We are looking into taking him during the work week to a "doggy daycare" occasionally so he can play and get some energy out. He loves playing with other dogs.
Thank you!

Hi Terry & Shannon!
Wanted to update you quick on Walter (Bella & Gator Jan 2018). He is now 15.5 months old, and doing great. He is loving it up here in Vail, and loves his daily hikes. He’s a big love muffin and has the sweetest disposition, ready to roll but can be your favorite companion as well. He has made his rounds around town and at a local bar we frequent where a lot of his dog friends go. He’s also been a great travel dog as he’s been in the car with us to Utah, Arizona, Nebraska, and Iowa, soon to head out to Nevada and California. Couldn’t have asked for a better dog! Thank you again! Sarah & Jim |
Hi Shannon & Terry,
Adam and I just wanted to send you a quick update on Schmidt! We took him home at the end of January from the Stryker and Raven litter (red collar). He is just the sweetest and most playful puppy. We couldn't ask for more. He can sit, stay, shake, lie down, and roll over. We still have lots of training left to go but so far we've had lots of fun with him and we can wait to take him on more adventures. We also get a lot of comments about how good looking he is, and we agree! He's definitely a cutie. He's 36 lbs and growing fast! We hope all is well with your current litters! ~Liz

Hi Shannon and Terri -
Gunner is now 7-1/2 months old and such a blessing to our family! He is a very smart dog but also gets into a lot of trouble😁. But he is far most the perfect match to our son and family....they have a lot of similarities! From being very energetic to laying around and being very calm, to being or trying to be a loveable lap dog. Thank you so much for a great dog!! We love him to pieces♥️. |
Hey Guys,
Just an update. Jax is doing great. Just over 6 months old and weighs about 50 lbs.
Has really taken to his training, has a great personality. LOVES BIRDS! And rabbits haha. His eyes are beautiful. And his coat is coming in great

Scully has been and continues to be a great dog! She is 80 pounds of happy! She is very birdy, very energetic, and extremely sweet. She’s an intelligent dog and is easy to train. She has to be the silliest animal on the planet and will run up to anyone with that big grin and dog kisses at the ready. If they oblige her, she’ll roll over for belly rubs. It’s pretty amazing, but this awesome field dog is great with our four small children. She truly has become the family dog. Everyone that knows dogs says she’s a really good dog and an absolute sweetie pie! We love our Scully!
Thanks for a great dog,
Chris

Hi Shannon and Terry,
I hope all is well with you and the dogs. I thought you might enjoy seeing Bella at 2 years old now(born 3/5/17 - Sky and Ike litter). Incredible dog. Perfect size. Awesome athleticism. She weighs 55 pounds. Very loving. Great with kids and other dogs. We do not hunt with her but she does not miss a bird, plane, anything in the air or on the ground. She is my running partner along with my black lab rescue that is around 10 years old. Just a great personality - not too hyper... can run 5 miles but then calm down at night. We are super happy. Thank you for a great dog. Keren |
Hi Shannon and Terry,
Just wanted to give you an update and let you know Hank is doing awesome! (March 9th litter from Jenny and Stryker) he’s a big boy weighing in at 90lbs but solid like his dad. We could not be happier with his disposition. He is great with the girls, loves to go for runs with me and is just fun to have around. We’d love to get him a friend in the future and will definitely come back to you! -Brooklyn |
Hi Shannon and Terry,
Just want update you on 28 week old Katie Grace. We get so many compliments on her looks. Her coloring is very unique. We think she is built like her daddy - currently 45 lbs. - and looks like her mama. She stalks everything and will play fetch all day long! She’s very smart, a smidge stubborn and all drama queen 😂We’re very happy with our little girl! ~Cheryl |
Hi Shannon and Terry – Here are some updated pictures of my amazing dog Charlie. She was born at the end of last May from Raven and Stryker. She has started field training and absolutely loves to retrieve and have stuff in her mouth (sticks, toys, birds, balls, etc.). She did a “practice” hunt last weekend and was very quick to locate the birds. She also loves to swim and has started to slow down enough to let us snuggle with her before bed and when she wakes up in the morning. She is about 60 lbs so she’s a great size for our family. What a great addition to our household she has been! ~Michelle

Hi Shannon and Terry. Can't believe it's already been a week since we've had Bodie. He's adjusted great to his new home! He's a lover, but when it's time to play, he's all puppy...and I have the battle scars to prove it! Ha! He's absolutely adorable, and he's already stolen our hearts! Heck, Toby even seems to enjoy having him around...most the time. I've attached a few photos that I hope you enjoy. ~Rob
Hi Shannon & Terry –
I know the quality of the pics are not great but I wanted to update you on Otis we got from you two years ago. If you remember my son and I came out from Fort Collins to look at the dogs. I hunt all the time in Yuma and this year was great!! I have attached the before and after pics of Otis. I can’t say enough about this dog he is learning the hunting fast but as my side kick one of the best around. Happy Holidays, Patrick |
Hello Shannon and Terry,
Just checking in with an update about one of your female pups born Oct 13, 2015 - from Sky and Chase. We named her Shamrock for the "town" that is south and west of Otis. We did not train her for hunting but she is a wonderful family pet!! She gets on well with her older sister Friscko who will be 10 next month and her other sister Carson who is 6 1/2. They are such a great team!! I have attached a photo of Shamrock the sailor :) Thank you for raising awesome labs!!!! Becky and family (from Elizabeth) |
Hi Shannon & Terry
I got a puppy from you guys last July and just wanted to let you know she is great the other dogs love her and she loves to be out in the field/ working birds with me just wanted to give you guys a big thank you and here our some pictures of Lilly I hope you guys get them and thank you again. |
This email is much overdue. Just wanted to drop you guys a line. I'm the park ranger from Craig CO. I purchased Sawyer from you guys September 14th 2014. He was born July 20th 2014. I'd have to check my paperwork to know which sire he came from. From the start I could tell this dog had come from excellent an bloodline. He's attentive, energetic, smart, docile, loves people, and a natural hunter. He's been the perfect companion these past couple of years. Just wanted to let you guys know I'm 100% satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this kennel to anybody. In fact I just told another Park Ranger buddy of mine about you guys. I think he's already sent you an email inquiring about your next chocolate litter. Feel free to pass along my email to any potential customers looking for a reference.
Hello Shannon and Terry,
I just wanted to drop you a line because Tazi has turned out to be probably the best puppy I've ever had (and I've had lots of labs). She went right into her crate the first night and actually loves it. Not a whimper or bark out of her. She even goes in to nap sometimes. Never has had an accident in it or in the house. She whines when she needs to go out and, even though we've been very proactive and take her out regularly, she waits for us. Just amazing in my opinion. We were so impressed with your dogs and kennel and this little girl is just icing on the cake. You do a wonderful job with your puppies and I'm convinced that makes a real difference to their new families. The twins are so excited and have enjoyed their time with her. They can't wait to come back (school interferes darn it) Turns out they had actually picked her from the pictures, didn't know that. Thanks again, and I will not hesitate to recommend you. I will post a review online in the near future.

Hi Shannon and Terry! Jason from pueblo just thought I'd send you an update on "Hatchet" that we picked up from you on aug 12. Hes been an absolutely wonderful pup! Very calm and kind demeanor, very quick learner! Easiest lab I have ever had the pleasure of teaching! No doubt you guys do a great job with your breeding! Hats off to you both thanks again
Ms Ruby is settling in very nicely to our family. She is gorgeous and extremely smart! We are very blessed to have her. Her house training is going great. She is walking on a leash, and sitting and playing ball like a champ. She falls asleep (like coma asleep) on our son's bed at bedtime while we are reading (I suspect she'll be reading in no time). Attaching a couple of photos. We'll let you know how she's doing as she grows - but wow, what an amazing addition to our family!!

I bought the chocolate lab with the white chest from you guys in July. I wanted to let you know that none of his white has gone away, and thank you guys again for such an amazing dog. He trains so easy and loves to retrieve. He has already been dove hunting, and gone through some serious waterfowl simulations. I have never had a dog learn so quick. He is also great in the house, with kids, and other dogs. thank you again!

Hey Terry and Shannon,
Just wanted to send a couple photos of the pups. Tucker is doing great no issues since our last phone call. He is healthy as can be. Beau is a sweetheart. The loves to snuggle and hates to fetch. Haha he's a very chill puppy! We have finally transitioned him outside the kennel. We are so in love with our pups and can't thank you enough for breeding beautiful dogs!!! Hope all is well.
Thank you,
Brittany and Mike

"Thank you so much for such an awesome puppy out of Bella and Chase. Sage is coming along great and such a smart and loving puppy. She will only be be 11 weeks tomorrow and already knows her sit, lay, place, and kennel with and without the whistle she has a big motor and acts just like the perfect pheasant dog with her nose down and tail in the air every step she takes oh yeah and by the way she just look at the pictures she is a great looking pup. thanks again!"

Hi Shannon and Terry, just wanted to share this picture of Briley the black lab at 11 months. We are so happy we got paired with him. Super mellow beta personality but huge drive when working. Smart, biddable, and clearly a looker. Only "defect" so far is his size. He is 25.75 at the withers and 105 pounds of solid lean muscle with probably another 1/2 inch and 10 pounds to go. We don't consider it a problem (though he will outweigh my wife) but probably can't breed him which makes us a little sad as his temperament and otherwise perfect conformity are already making us think about keeping his genes running. Anyway... He has been an amazing addition to our family so for that thank you. If you would like other pictures for the website or more info on how and what he is doing. Just let me know. Thanks.

Hi there Shannon and Terry! I thought we would send a hello note on the eve of Otis’s first birthday. He was the green collar Chocolate Lab from your November 5th 2014 litter. I've attached a photo from last weekend in Steamboat Springs. He is so loyal to us, just a great all around dog! Haven’t trained him to hunt with Chris yet, but its definitely in him. He turned out so pretty. We get compliments every single day on our walks- people say what a beautiful dog he is and how his coloring is gorgeous. Thank you again!

"Hey Shannon and Terry! Just wanted to give you a little update on Moose— He is fitting in so well with our family and our dogs- as you can see from the pictures, he can hold his own and still likes to take toys away from others— his favorite game is to take the others’ ball away and run around and make them chase him. He has been our easiest dog to house train- after 3 weeks- he’s only had 3 accidents and is well on his way to being housebroken. He comes when called, sits on command, and loves to retrieve already. He is a pure joy to have and his personality is so endearing. Thank you for doing a great job breeding and raising these pups!" Emily

"Hi Terry and Shannon. We wanted to touch base with you and let you know how happy we are with Hunter. He was so well adjusted and playful as a puppy. What a smart dog he has become and is developing into a great pheasant dog this season. We have had several successful hunting days with him and are very pleased with his progress. We are looking forward to getting a chocolate puppy from you this next year. Thanks again!"

"Shannon and Terry, thought I’d send you a couple photos of Harley as her 6-month birthday is coming up Saturday. I couldn’t be happier with her! She is very smart and picks up on things so quickly. We have been out dove hunting the past few weekends. We are having problems actually bringing the birds back to me and instead laying down and pretty much destroying (eating) them! Just wanted to let you know things are going great and I couldn’t be more pleased! I’ve also received multiple comments on how pretty of a dog she is. You must be doing something right. Things come pretty naturally to her. If you nail down the obedience it seems the hunting aspect is simply “built” in. Thanks again! Looks like you recently had 11 new little ones. Exciting!"

"We named her Sadie Mae and she is awesome. Neat Personality, she just loves the farm and has done well around shooting, plus she has a natural desire to get ducks. My pet ducks aren't happy but they will adapt. Thanks for a sweetheart girl!"

"Hi Terry and Shannon, I just wanted to let you know how delighted we are with our puppy. He has settled right in and is eating and sleeping well and playing hard. Your puppies obviously get lots of human affection as well as good care to be able to be so confident and adjustable in a new environment. Thank you and best wishes!"

"Good evening Terri & Shannon, I hope you both are doing well. I just wanted to give you guys an update on Blue. He is adjusting quite well to us, and has become such the talk of the neighborhood......everyone loves him!! At 5 months he is 57lbs. and just sharp as a whip!! He is so smart and intelligent and has been so easy to train. We took Blue with us to Mexico and he just had a blast swimming in the Sea of Cortez. He batted the water a couple times then dropped his paws below water and turned into a "Torpedo" instantly. He loved hanging out at the beach and chasing Seagulls and wrecking my daughters sand castles which I need to work on. Lol!!! He has been such a joy to have and watch him grow. He is the most intelligent dog and so eager to learn. We can't ever thank you both enough for the most amazing dog. We will continue to update you on his growth.
P.S. My parents are smitten with excitement to get their new little girl!!"

"Shannon and Terry, Sage is one year old! She is the best dog in the world! She loves the snow, mountains, swimming and fishing. She has the most powerful nose ever and loves to play games where she sniffs out her treats or toys. Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to love Sage. We thought you would enjoy seeing a few pictures. If you wanted to use any of these for your website, let me know, and I'll send you the original."

"Thought you would like and update on Briley. Today at his check up Briley weighed in at an enormous 40 pounds... And as you can see he is very lean. He is healthy and smart and very very handsome. He remains quite the talker and is still a bit to independent for his own good. He is a great kid and will be a great, albeit huge, lab. Thanks so much. I'd love to hear if you get feedback on any of his siblings."

"Hello guys just wanted to give you an update on Sprig. I have had him with Lynn at Blue Pheasant throughout the last month and he is coming along real nice, hold conditioning, as well as placement is going great. He has a super strong hunt ethic as well as a ton of drive. I am really looking forward to hunting him exclusively this next season as Max will be in retirement. We really like him, and the boys have really bonded with him. I will keep you guys in the loop, thanks again for helping us, hope all is well with you guys."
